Almost Landfill - Tree Lawn Finds Before Restoration

Much of our inventory comes to us in rough shape. Clearly once loved, it arrives to our workshop in some state of disrepair: scratched wood surfaces, eroded finishes, rusted metal frames, stripped hardware. Starting with beat-up pieces actually gives us more creative freedom to re-imagine their aesthetics and purposes. Some of the furniture below is refinished and featured on our Available Products page. Some of it is in process and will show up there soon. We’ll keep posting newly arrived and updated pieces, so check back if something catches your fancy.

This gorgeous, 1920s’-era bench was generously donated to us. The rusted metal base and frayed upholstery called for a drastic update.

We found this century-old beauty at a flea market. The mechanisms of the rocker work quite well, but the upholstery was dated and ragged. We picked a funky, bohemian fabric for re-upholstery, and added padding for comfort.

This beach chair was mostly in pieces when we found it on a tree lawn. It had to be sanded extensively, re-secured, painted and polyurethaned. Luckily, we had some help.

Still in process, we have three of these gorgeously ornamented sitting chairs. The cleaning up process included removing about a million, tiny upholstery nails, rusted springs and hay stuffing.

Another tree lawn find, this piece was solidly built but dated. We removed the “ye olde” trim, replaced the hardware, and milk-painted the exterior.

A family member donated this set of metal chairs. Well-constructed, a coat of rust-protector and some color updates will have these gorgeous and weatherproof in no time.
